money by zikoko
Money by Zikoko is a newsletter that explores global money habits in a fun, relatable way, asking: What does money mean, and how are people making, saving, spending, and losing it? As part of the marketing strategy, I helped create a promotional campaign that leveraged familiar imagery to build immediate connection and curiosity. The design featured historical figures from various currencies, from Africa’s Obafemi Awolowo on the naira to Kwame Nkrumah on the cedi and international icons like Queen Elizabeth and Abraham Lincoln. This approach aimed to spark a sense of recognition, making the newsletter's theme universally engaging and appealing to a diverse audience
Building on the audience’s positive response to the initial campaign, I developed personalized editions of the currency designs for the publication’s writers. This approach allowed each writer to promote the newsletter on their personal platforms, strengthening the campaign’s reach and authenticity
